Book tags, my own way

I just want to answer chain questions about books online. I don’t want to tag anyone and this post doesn’t have rules. Yeah, it’s book tags, MY OWN WAY!

1. Tell me something about your favorite author.

  • I love several authors – Jane Austen, John Irving, Dr. Seuss, JD Salinger. One common denominator among them is that they write sensible books.
  • 2. What’s the first book you’ve read for more than 3 hours straight?

  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K Rowling
  • 3. Category of books you read?

  • Classic – hard to read but worth it.
  • 4. Would you rather read the book before or after seeing the movie?

  • I sometimes seem to cling to an OCD-ish need to read book that the movie is based upon before I will allow myself to see it.
  • 5. Where do you usually buy books?

  • Booksale – the most pocket-friendly bookstore
  • 6. Tell me some random reading habits.

  • I usually skip dragging parts. You don’t need to read those parts just because they are there. I think some authors just want to produce thick books with thin thoughts.
  • 7. Enumerate 3 of your favorite books.

  • The Catcher in the rye by JD Salinger, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and The Wizard of Oz by Frank Baum
  • 8. Are you influenced by the majority’s choice of “good” reads?

  • Never
  • 9. What part of the house do you find yourself most comfortable at when reading books?

  • My bedroom
  • 10. If you would rate your addiction to books from 1-10, 1 as the lowest. How would you rate yourself?

  • 9.5 – leaving a little room for improvement

  • 11. What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read?

  • Law books, but it gets better
  • 12. What’s the one book you always recommend to just about anyone?

  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  • 13. What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was so good you couldn’t put it down?

  • Savages by Don Winslow
  • 14. Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog?

  • No, these two are entirely different from each other
  • 15. Least favorite book you read this year (so far)?

  • Duty and Desire by Pamela Aidan. Not a good Austen series
  • 16. Favorite book you’ve read this year?

  • The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger
  • 17. What makes you love a book?

  • It’s the fact that I am hoarding it. Hahaha.
  • 18. How do you feel about giving bad/negative reviews?

  • I don’t give reviews, I rate books. I have so much respect for authors that I don’t want to give my unimportant opinions
  • 19. What distracts you easily when you’re reading?

  • The urge to watch a movie

  • 20. Who is your favorite book character so far? Tell us something about him/her.

  • Elizabeth Bennet – she is tough and won’t settle for less than she deserves even in the context of a very repressive society.
